Viagra the male erectile dysfunction drug that contains sildenafil was being studied at Netherland along with Amsterdam university medical center with ten other hospitals where expecting mothers were given doses of drug Viagra to facilitate increase in blood flow to foetus who's growth was slowed down due to one or the other reason.
This study is npw halted since 11 babies lost lives. There was no prompt decisive result pr endpoint observation which could be attributed to the beneficial effects of drug Viagra in this off the label use.
Sildenafil is also used off the label in new born babies when it is required more blood circulation to heart and lungs is required, this is used in hospitalised cases under supervision of Doctor.
