Thane Waghbil Residents come forward and do Cleaning Drive to Mark Swach Bharat Abhiyan

Conducting Cleanliness Drives in Societies and Promotion of Zero Garbage Concept

Swaccha Bharat Abhiyaan also called as  Clean India Mission is a National level campaign run by the Indian Government . Keeping our city or surroundings  clean is a moral responsibility of  each and every citizen of India.

As part of this Mission and a small share of service to the nation few members of Anunagar CHS  Waghbil Thane had organised a special  Cleanliness Drive on 9th Dec 2018 in collaboration with Thane Municipal Corporation.

This drive was also intended to inculcate a culture of keeping  their surroundings clean amongst children of the society.

The drive included actual cleaning of society premises by members of the society, a lecture on segregation of wet and dry waste and composting , followed by wall painting by children and adults with special messages.

The drive started around 8 am in the morning and lasted almost for entire day.

There were around 40
members including children and  personnel from TMC who took active participation in the drive.

Members of the society had many good take home messages on composting and waste management promoting the zero garbage concept from the lecture as well as a sense of achievement from cleaning the premises on their own. Children and elders enjoyed doing wall painting.

It is recommended that all societies conduct this drive and promote the zero garbage concept which will help tremendously in keeping the surroundings clean and reducing the environmental pollution in India.
