Russia's Luna-25 Lunar expedition probe crashed

Russia's Luna-25 spacecraft experienced a technical glitch and subsequently crashed into the moon while attempting to enter a pre-landing orbit.

The spacecraft was meant to land on the moon's south pole, an area of scientific interest due to the possibility of water-containing craters. Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, is analyzing the situation and reported preliminary data from the spacecraft's results, including information about the lunar soil's chemical elements and a registered micrometeorite impact. The crash follows Russia's first lunar launch since 1976.
